My wife just received the email and picture below from our niece Jackie that I just had to share. As much as it makes my skin crawl, I can't seem to get enough of stories like these.

Well I'm sure you all heard about my little incident by now, but if for some reason
you haven't here's a quick run down.
During spring break for two weeks I participated in an ecology field study in Peru.
It was a lot of fun, but I ended up having a bit of trouble with the insects.
On a hike in the Amazon forest (about 20 minutes from my lodge) some sort of fly
flew into my ear and proceeded to get stuck in there. It was realllly painful cuz it got stuck in the back next to my inner ear - stupid bug. I managed to kill it with swimmers ear (thank God I packed a lot of medical supplies) and then had to travel 2 hrs by boat to the nearest clinic for treatment. They ended up leaving it there bc it would have been painful and possible cause infections to remove the big. So I had this bug in my ear for over a week in my ear - ACK.
I just got it removed and boy was the University clinic surprised at its size.<GRIN>
I included a picture below of its size.

Anyway that's about it.
Talk to you all later.
Jackie
