Day One of Indy Road Trip

Saturday the 3rd we took off from Mini-Apple around 9am and lead-footed the VW Bug down Interstate 94 to 90 to 65 and arrived at our pal's Malcolm and Heather's doorstep in Indy at 7pm sharp.

Soon the four of us were off to join Steve and Linda, Ray and Marney, and Rob and Cari at the Aristocrat www.aristocratpub.com for an evening of Scottish n' Irish tunes with the amazing Hogeye Navvy www.hogeyenavvy.com (a must see band) As you can well imagine (if you know Malcolm and Heather), much food, fellowship and laughter was had by all.

As you can see from the above pix, Malcolm and Heather know a quality bumper sticker when they see it. The red one on the left ain't half bad as well :)

Day Two of Indy Road Trip

On Sunday, Malcolm and Heather had the same gang from the previous eve over for a delicious Easter brunch of honey baked ham and all the fixins, followed by Ray's childhood stories of growing up (and barely surviving) in Alaska. Too dang funny!

Later in the afternoon our friends from my wife's Michigan days, Ann and Joe arrived. (Ann and Joe now make Bloomington, Indiana home) After a bit, Grand Marais native Howard Pratt (Bob's younger bro) and his wife Linda joined us as well, for a leisurely afternoon on the patio enjoying the unseasonably warm (for Easter anyway) Indiana weather.

In the evening we ventured out for a mobile tour of the grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art www.imamuseum.org/visit and Butler University www.butler.edu/about and the historic Broad Ripple Village en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broad_Ripple_Village,_Indianapolis and topped off our tanks at Binkley's www.binkleyskitchenandbar.com

If you give a rip or happen to be an immediate family member, days three and four will be on tomorrows blog as there are too many pix to fit in on one blog page.
