Terry's Blog
I apologize heavily for being extremely lacks in reporting Sven and Ole's Trivia results and Point Cup Points for the last four months, but my real estate career got in the way.
If you're looking for something to do, why not round up your friends and test your combined brain power against a random mix of twenty questions. You may be surprised at how much you know about useless information. Hope to see you at 7pm.

Epic Wave Action 2010
In my 49 years I don't recall as many waves with enough power to time and time again launch spray well over the top of the lighthouse. In the usual big storms you're lucky to have maybe two or three put on that kind of display, but not like the hundreds we are seeing today. Yes, literally hundreds.
Today was a first (for my eyes anyway) for numerous things. I've never seen waves wash over Five Mile Rock, a sail boat parked on the beach by the Lake Superior Trading Post, heck, I even saw George Wilkes scratching his head over the boat in his parking lot and trying to figure out how the Angry Trout could implement curbside service next year. I can see the roller-skates already.
Also. I didn't see them, but I heard a group of surfers were trying out the swells at Paradise Beach. Yes, it's been a crazy day.
See pix below of some of the beauty and the carnage.

White?
I was out tooling around looking for birds (grouse) and to my surprise ran across a couple of white Sven and Ole's bumper stickers. I think they're about 25 yrs. old since they came from the first batch my brother and I ever ordered from Brown and Bigelow. They were supposed to be yellow, but they sent us white.
Of the 1000 ordered I'm guessing they're the last, with the remaining 998 hanging tightly to some bumpers in a junk yard somewhere. Well, at least they're sticky.
The first person who can tell me on what road these beauties are located wins a 16" pizza of their choice. Good luck.
Congrats Heather Smith.
For the last three or four Sundays my wife and I have been going on what we call Jeep Tours of Cook County and finally took along our camera to snap off a few pix. Last week we hiked Honeymoon Bluff. (my first time, sorry no pix) This week we took the Arrowhead Trail to Portage Bluff Overlook and on to the backside of Greenwood Lake and took a few narrow trails that led to wading/driving across a creek/river bed which came out (to our surprise) on the Gunflint Trail. Who knew? I just live here :) Anyway, after that we took a right turn and drove up to the Hungry Jack Lodge for a little pizza and beer. Yes, it was my first time at the Hungry Jack Lodge as well (very cool place by the way). And yes, I just live here :)
PS. I just listed an amazing home with yard to match. This place is a must see.
